Yep, and it won't be long before it's running again. I reassembled the motor and stuck in back in. I dropped the transmission out when I pulled the motor to replace the front pump seal and I noticed the pump bushing is a tad loose. I'll pick one up this week and knock that thing in and the trans should be ready to stick back in. All I'll need then is a set of headers (cough, cough Troy). I don't think we'll be racing this week since it's supposed to rain Tuesday so I guess I'm not going to get in any hurry about finishing it up. Maybe, it'll get in the ten's this time. I was awful close the last time I ran it (11.05)

Got a wild hair tonight and put the trans back in. Should be mobile again this weekend. Oh, and I just went back with the original rockers instead of the 1.6's. There's probably not much to gain from that. So, I guess I really haven't done anything to make it faster. Just freshened it up some.

As of around 8:00 PM yesterday, the LT1eth doth runneth once more. I need to bolt the hood back on and I'm set for another racing season. Now all we need is some decent weather on a Wednesday night.

Might get em done in May when we do the headers. We normally don't race the Wednesday before Memorial day because the track is gearing up for the blowout.

Yep, Troy had them but I got over anxious and couldn't wait for the material to come in. He said we can do them later when there's a break in the schedule. By the way, they're having a mardi gras event at the track tomorrow where one can go make all the time trials they care to and every hour they have a competition to see who can run closest to their dial in. Winner gets $100.00 (every hour there's a winner) I may do a little testing and tuning out there tomorrow afternoon. Gates open at 11:00 AM and ends at 5:00PM.

Well, I have a meeting in Gulfport at 10:30 tomorrow morning. I'm thinking about bringing the nova to work with me, drag it over to the meeting and go out to the track afterwards. I have another meeting scheduled for 2:00 in the afternoon but I'm planning on cancelling that one. If it works out, I will probably get there before lunch.

Okay guys, the LT1 nova is officially a 10 second car. It ran a 10.98 and a 10.99 this afternoon. I really never dreamed this thing would actually go that fast when I was building it. It runs just as good as it did before I freshened it up too. Points start in two weeks so I'm glad I had this opportunity to go check everything out on it.

Its the ceramic thats the only things you did different to it :D Now we just need to get some powder on your engine and it will slick it down for better aero dynamics lot less drag so quicker times. Congrats on the times Hoot

Troy, that's probably what did it. It's holding up so far too. I made 9 passes yesterday starting with 11.16 off the trailer and just taking it easy for the first run. Then I ran it out every pass after that. 11.03, 11.02, 11.07 (spun at the line), 11.02, 11.01, 10.98, 10.99 and 11.02 again. If it'll stay that consistent this year and I can cut a decent light, I should have a fair chance of winning this year.

We'll have to be careful with your car Roy. Wouldn't want to peel the paint off from all that air resistance. We'll see what you got once we get into it. Whenever your ready. We can start tonight if it rains out at the track or tomorrow night if we do race tonight. Lemme know.

You moving on pretty good. I really would like to see your car run. Jealous of that 10 sec slip you got. Maybe one day for me.

It was great weather yesterday too. Everybody kept telling me it would get in the tens and it sure took long enough but I think the consistency is more relevant. Top speed was 122.4 MPH also. Yours should get in the tens with the setup you have if you can get it to hook. Should be well in the tens.

I'll have to get some airplane wax so that it slips right thru the air. Or I could get some used heat shields off the Space Shuttle.
I didn't get in 'til late. I was working on getting my new pool pump hooked up. Did i get it finished? Hell no. We can start tomorrow after work if you're ok with that. I figured that you were at the track since the weather was nice. You can call me when you get home tonight or I'll call you tomorrow. 601-799-9652 I'm really looking forward to it for many reasons.

We did race tonight and I took home the top spot. I need to save this for when the points start. But, it's nice to win the trophy and fifty bucks. It pays for my night and then some. Also, it makes the rest of those guys out there think hard about how they are going to beat me this year. (mind games).

Sorry Roy. I didn't have a chance to read your post but we can get started tomorrow night. I usually get home between 5:30 and 6:00 PM. I'd like to get the engine out and on the stand as soon as possible so we can see what's going on in there. Bring your camera so we can document the stuff.

Another Wednesday night at Gulfport and it was a fine night for racing indeed. I took first place again, too. That's two in a row. The next time we race, it'll be for the start of the points season. I hope I can continue my streak. They don't have enough cars this early in the season on Wednesdays to run all three classes so everybody's lumped into one which means you have to race against the fancy shnancy, super duper, high dollar cars with computers doing all the work for them. Those guys are hard to beat with a footbrake car. But, it can be done (as demonstrated).

Roy and I were going to load up his motor last night so he could take it to the machine shop this morning but I went racing instead. I felt really bad about skipping out on him and making him come load it this morning but the win made me forget all about that. So Roy, today you get a game ball, bud.

awww the least you could do would to be give him two used slicks so he can get a piece of glass and make a coffee table out of them.
