this event was great. im amazed at how much torque my little v6 can put out. my tires at first had no grip due to the tire shine that was on them( yah that stuff actually reduces your traction. im gonna sand off the rest later) at the end of the day the tires heated up and started to get some good grip. i think my only problem was probably the 60 ft slolems im really not used to that long of a slolem. i have to say i am amazed with how well the car could pivot (in some places a bit too much). ill eventually get everything down and pull out some really good times. during fun runs brian (who was competing for ftd) drove my car twice and his fastest time matched my fastest time of the daythe only diference inbetween out driving was the slolem( i think finnally got the tires hot enough to grip so he could flat foot it all the way through) and braking where i was a bit smoother trying not to up set the car. then i drove his s2k and pulled a time 2 seconds slower if it was not for a missed shift(very not used to pulling the shifter an inch fron first to second).ill post up the videos once they get on youtube

i swear i had a faster time in there. i must have hit a cone. it was way too easy to hit them this event since the course was almost one huge slolem.

once we get back to sunny south registration will be open for everyone. at brookley we are limited to 30 spots per event.im gonna do some more work to the car before the next event than going to save for some koni yellows.

you should have stayed in GS if your suspension is mostly stock.

I have a thumping sound coming out the rear too. Mostly when I hit a fast shape bump or something that moves the rear suspension very very quickly. I've checked all the bolts in the rear (pan, lac, shocks,) I think i have a leaking shock that has a air pocket in one of the rear shock. I'm going to replace them with new Koni's w/ on car adjustments.

yah thats exactly what i have happening right now too. im working on saving up for the konis on car adjustment and some strano springs but first im relocating my torque arm off of the transmission so my shifter is not jumping up and down two inches or so hopefully some more grip in the rear. as far as g stock i know i could have but im not even close to be in the running so im just going out to have fun and tune the camaro to get faster. im aiming to beat that sm m3 that keeps setting ftd on street tires. just don't want any drama.

I just ordered a set of Koni for the rear and was talking to Sam Strano about the thumping noise. He said that it could be a shock going soft. BUT he said that he has the same problem on his 98 camaro and the 2 mustangs. He said it was more noticeable after he lowered the car. He said that with the car lowered the exhaust system is closer to the axle and can bump the body or whatever supports under extreme/quick movements. He said you can replicate this by going under the car and grabbing the exhaust (Cold not Hot) and moving it up and down to see if it knocks into anything.

i know how that is. the slave i changed when i changes the clutch and i tried the drill bit mod( which really screwed up my clutch) i removed and put back in the master 3 times in one week tryig to get it right eventually took it to pep boys to bleed and realze i needed to change the hose. luclky napa had one in stock. for the clunk i think it's my shock since it is on the driver side and not on the passenger side. i also only have a 2.5 inch exhaust.

I had to change a exhaust hanger b/c it was bent and the muffler was almost slipping out. But I'll check it again this weekend.

do you have a poly trans mount? that will help with the shifter movement. I have a poly in mine.

no i have not yet. im just going to do a full torque arm relocation so the trans has no part of the suspension. im doing the poly mount when i do this cause i am going with a cross member for the th350 transmission and i think it will raise the mount for the tranny 1/2 inch up and with a normal crossmember with the poly mount thr tranny will be 1/2 inch too low so im going to adjust everyting and do a write up on it for the other v6 guys.
