Thanks! I've paid for the engine already. The guy was supposed to be pulling it over the weekend. Hopefully it'll be shipped within a few days or so.

I can't wait to get it in the car. I had the guy record a video of the car idling with a few revs with the cutout open and closed. I'll post it up when I get off work. It sounds pretty mean.

Todd, if you read this, would you be able to copy the tune info from a 07 PCM to a 98 PCM? Just wondering. Never done anything tuning related before.

It can be done, but it's not worth your time in doing so. Every little thing that is different (ie car it's in) makes a difference. It really needs to be tuned properly in your car. Air flow is different, under hood temps, weight of vehicle, power to get car moving, etc. Every car is different. Besides, his car may have surged a bit when he put it in gear, turned the ac on, cold starts, warm starts, etc. I would be more than happy to tune it for you when you get back. Just give me a call, and we can set something up. Or Dwight (Hemi2Slow) could take car of it for you. He has been properly trained. ;)

    Here's a little update.

The engine/trans combo has been removed from the Mustang that it was in. It's sitting on a pallet awaiting pickup from the shipping company. The guy sent me a couple of pics of the stuff on the pallet.

List of all the details I know about the setup:
    -2007 LQ4 Short Block (70k miles)
    -PRC STG2.5 LS6 Heads (64cc)
    -TSP 233/239 Cam kit
    -FAST 102 intake
-PTM 92mm TB (Need to trade for cable TB)
    -FAST Fuel Rails
    -Delphi 44lb injectors
    -NKG plugs
    -Truck Coils
    -Performabuilt Lv2 4L60 (3000 miles & about 15 track passes)
    -Yank SS4000 (About 1000 miles & a few passes)

    Parts left to order:
-New rear axle (Midwest Chassis 9")
-Drag radials (Decided to keep the 17s- Nitto 555r's)
    -Seats
-Mail order tune (To get it running)
    -Throttle body- 92 or 102
    -Headers (TSP 1-7/8 long tubes)
-Exhaust (TSP True-duals with Dynomax bullets)

After that, all I should need is the final tune and I should be good to go!

I do have a couple of questions about something... How would I need to hook up the knock sensors on this engine? It's a 2007 short block going in a 98 Camaro. Would I need to use the 98 setup?

Also, I need a cable operated 92 or 102mm throttle body if someone has one laying around. I have a PTM DBW 92mm I could trade/sell if anyone needs it.

    Now for the pics :)

    Another update.

I recently bought a Moser 9" with 3.73s and a spool. Gonna look for a LSD to put in it. Also bought a PST chromemoly driveshaft for it.

Getting ready to order the Throttle Body and the MAF. Getting the PTM 102 TB and the TSP 100mm MAF.

Todd, you have any experience with the TSP MAF?

It's just another MAF. Just larger than factory. No issues running it or tuning for it. However, you could always just run a speed density tune and run without a maf......1 less thing in the system.

True, but I'll be moving to California soon. Wouldn't I have to get a retune if I ran SD when I got there? Car will stay registered in MS, so I'm not worried about emissions.

No need for a retune. You're car would be completely calibrated to where your afr and timing is perfect. Then, if there is any difference do to density altitude, your O2s will make the small corrections by themselves. Same as it would if you were running a MAF. No worries.

Wheelie bar on dd? Not happening brother. Better save up for suspension. All that power isn't going to be any good if you can't hook. . And since ur shaving weight, why not go with a UMI tubular k member. Free up weight and space. Just saying.

Nothing wrong with a wheelie bar on a daily driver. I had them on my 1981 Camaro with a 402 in it. Doesn't affect anything but get people staring. LOL!

Another update. Engine, transmission, converter, rear axle, driveshaft, and headers are at my mothers house and will be getting put in the car this weekend as soon as the solid engine mounts, throttle body, MAF, air lid, O2 extensions, and a few other goodies come in the mail. I ordered some adjustable LCAs and a PHR, next up will be the torque arm. I'm shopping for one as we speak. Next will be tires.

I'm still debating on whether I want to just put drag radials on my SS wheels or just buy some 15s and put drag radials on those... I need some lighter wheels for the front... Idk yet, might have to just wait on those...

Anyways, just figured I'd give you guys something to read. I don't have any more pics at the moment, but I'll try and get someone to go take some as the car is getting put together.

Larry, the suspension and engine mounts are from Spohn. I ordered them through Texas Speed. I've read some good reviews on their stuff.

Todd, I'm very excited about it. It is getting put together this weekend, and I msg'd Hemi2Slow about the tuning so I think that's covered too.

I can't wait to get home to see what my $12,000 investment has bought me. Lol.
