Its July so lets everyone get your pics and your write up submitted for the Ride of The Month. Read The Rules and lets get going. At the end of the month we will choose who gets it.
Kurios, if you haven't hauled yours off to the scrap yard yet, it's got my vote. That thing is wicked!
Heres how I bought the car in August of 97. Nothing fancy, nothing to brag about, in no way did it stand out of the crowd of other Firebirds. The first exterior changes I made to the car was the stripes, a set of 5 spoke factory wheels and the Trans Am rear spoiler. The final exterior changes I made were adding the T/A front bumper, the rocker panel ground effects, rear T/A bumper, T/A honeycomb tail lights and a set of ZO6 replica wheels. As for the interior, I added a late model T/A center console, new carpet, leather T/A door panels, and the T/A rear trunk trim with the extra speakers. The suspension has been tweeked as well. It now has the following from BMR: shock tower brace, front-rear swaybars, weld in subframe connectors, adjustable torque arm, tubular lower control arms, tubular panhard bar, transmission crossmember with driveshaft loop....and polyurethane bushings throughout. Also has Eibach 1" lowering springs and Bilstein HD shocks, and now has a one piece driveshaft from a V8 car in it. I have the stuff to put the disk brakes on the rearend, I just havent gotten around to doing it yet. Right now, she's juuuuuuuuuuuuust shy of 150,000 miles....but she still runs pretty good, so I guess I'll keep her.
I don't know, Larry. That thing stands out big time in your pics. As a matter of fact, I don't see any of those other firebirds anywhere here. Seriously, cool car
well a Birds nest is its home....when I bought mine, there were at least 3 others black plain jane Firebirds in town...I had to change it up somehow because I got tired of people waving at me that I didnt know.
Its nice from about 20yds...lol. All those years of sitting out in the baking sun and under the pine trees without a car cover has taken its toll. The paint has bad spots from the sap and is fading or peeling. The decals are also faded and cracked for the same reasons. Hopefully one day I'll get back to a point financially like I was last year to where I can actually start throwing money into it again. Until then, Im just keeping it running and gassed up....lmao. But thanks for the kind words, it does make me feel better even though Im the slowest one here.
well i bought the car for 200$ 3 years ago (i think )with no motor or trans after aquiring a driveline i have been fighting the electrical issues and about a year ago got it tagged its got a 350 with a 650 holley and a 700r4 out of an astro van my current plans involve a .30 over 396 and th350 with some suspension upgades and new paint
I beg to differ on that one have you seen mine lately if you have just ask John or Mark on how fast they think it will go.
Well, I know we had setup a few rules for this....but in light of everything thats happened over the past few months, and especially the past few weeks....I think we're gonna amend them for a dedicated and valued member. Im nominating Kristen (WyldCdn) as the first inductee. He has been here since the beginning, through thick and thin. He has always been willing to help his fellow fbody owners when help was needed. Hes gave away parts to those who needed them, and made really good deals on those parts that he had to sell. Kristian has always been able to make lemonade when dealt lemons....(his attempt to make a GSFCC cruise night and blowing up his motor enroute being a prime example). He sat there in the dark of Irish Bayou for about 5 hours until I could get us trailer for his car....the whole time, he never bitched or moaned about it. (which yall know me, I couldnt have been that patient). Kristian has always been there for us, hes been through alot....he lost his son Jonah, but takes that in stride....lost his car to a drunk driver, but has turned that into something positive....a few other minor setbacks, and now his mothers illness.....how much more can one person take? Well that I dont know, but I wish that I was half as patient, thoughtful and compassionate as Kristian has proven to be. Ive only known him for a little over a year, but I can honestly say he has been not only a good club member, but sometimes my voice of reason, and most of all a GREAT friend who is of true character and has a good heart. It would certainly be an honor to have him be our first inductee to our humble little Hall of Fame.
I second that Larry. Kristian was the first person that I met from the club. What a great guy. He's got my vote.
Well Im working on something special for it give me some time since Im working from a cracker jack box but it will be nice
I'll vote for Kristian..... but Not his car!! an LT1 in the Hall of Fame??!!!! Blasphemy!!!!! MISS YOU KRISTIAN!!!!!
I never had the pleasure of meeting Kristian, but if he drives an LT1, He's got to be a great guy. And obviously pretty smart too.
